The Combined Historical Scenario for War in the Pacific

CHS Scenario Installation

There are two recommended methods for installing the CHS:

  1. Single Game Installation:
This installation is used if you only have one copy of the War in the Pacific game installed on your PC. When using this type of installation, a simple batch file utility is used to switch between the official maps and game art and that required for playing CHS. In this way, you can swap between playing CHS scenarios and scenarios using the official maps and data.

  2. Dual Game Installation:
This installation is used if you have a separate, second, copy of the War in the Pacific game installed on your PC. When using this type of installation the CHS maps and game art can be permanently installed. This allows for easier switching between CHS and non-CHS scenarios, but requires more disk space as WitP is installed twice.

The following pages provide a step-by-step guide to downloading and installing the CHS for both of these methods:

Single Game Installation: Go to the Step Download all required files

Dual Game Installation: Go to the Step Install a second version of WitP

Installation steps:

  1. Install a second version of WitP (dual game installation only)
  2. Download all required files
  3. Install Andrew Brown's map
  4. Install Andrew Brown's extended map
  5. Install the CHS base package
  6. Install the CHS scenario(s)
  7. Use the ModSelect utility
