Description:

The Combined Historical Scenario (CHS) is a player created full campaign scenario for the computer game War in the Pacific (WitP). It is intended to be as accurate as possible in the areas of order of battle (OOB), table of organization and equipment (TOE) and the Pacific theatre environment itself (map, bases, resources etc.).

The scenario is an ongoing project being contributed to by a number of War in the Pacific players. Much work has been done, but there remains a lot more to do, especially for the non-US powers - Japan, USSR and China. It is primarily intended for Play by email (PBEM), although suitablilty for play versus the AI is also being taken into consideration. Contributions to this project, of any amount or type, are welcome.

The main differences between the CHS and the stock scenarios provided with the game are:

  • The scenario is designed to be used with the alternative map created by Andrew Brown.

  • The Allied and Japanese OOB and TOE data have been heavily reworked in an attempt to make them as accurate as possible within the constrints of the game.

  • Some additional bases have been added.

  • Many bases in the game have had their port values, airfield values and supply and resource values reviewed and in many cases adjusted.

The current version of the scenario is 2.00.
