Andrew's War in the Pacific Map version 6.2 - North America

Map changes:

The transport infrastructure of North America is modified to make it more realistic. The nonexistent railway to Alaska is gone, to be replaced by the railways and roads that actually existed at the time (the Alcan highway, from Fort St. John to Alaska is shown as completed during the war). Nome is also isolated now, as it was in real life

A number of new bases have been added to North America as follows:

  • Fairbanks: An inland base in Alaska. Part of the Lend-Lease air route from North America to the USSR, and one of the end points of the Alcan highway that was built/improved during the war.
  • Seward: An Alaskan port not represented on the official map.
  • Whittier: A location in Alaska, near Anchorage, that was built up as a port in preference to Seward.
  • Whitehorse: An inland Canadian base connected to Skagway, on the Pacific coast, by a railway. Part of the Lend-Lease air route from North America to the USSR, located on the Alcan highway.
  • Skagway: A port near Juneau on the Pacific coast.
  • Fort St. John: An inland Canadian base that is part of the Lend-Lease air route from North America to the USSR, and the start point of the Alcan highway.
  • Edmonton: An inland Canadian base. The start point of the Lend-Lease air route from North America to the USSR. Mainly added for aesthetic purposes.
  • Calgary: An inland Canadian base. Mainly added for aesthetic purposes.
  • Victoria: A base on the island that is a combination of the town of Victoria and the naval base at nearby Esquimalt. Home base of the Canadian Pacific Fleet, some repair facilities are also located here.
  • Coal Harbour (Port Alice in previous map versions): A base on the Western end of Vancouver Island that was used by naval search aircraft.
  • Canada: A generic inland base that represents the allocation of resources from Eastern Canada to the Pacific theatre, in the same way that the "United States" base does for the USA. The amount of supplies and fuel generated are much smaller than from the "United States" base, and there is no oil. The values added here are taken away from the "United States" base.
  • Spokane: An inland airfield in the USA. This base does not serve any particular purpose and could easily be removed. It might be of some use if there was a full-scale invasion of the USA by Japan. It may also help supply propagate from the United States base to the Canadian bases, but I am not sure about that. Mainly added for aesthetic purposes.
  • Boise: An inland airfield in the USA. This base does not serve any particular purpose and could easily be removed. It might be of some use if there was a full-scale invasion of the USA by Japan. It may also help supply propagate from the United States base to the Canadian bases, but I am not sure about that. Mainly added for aesthetic purposes.
  • Sacramento: In the unlikely (but not impossible) event that Japan invades the US mainland, the addition of this base ensures that all coastal US bases have nearby bases to act as backups, reflecting real-life capability.
  • Astoria: A small port at the mouth of the Columbia River, this port is adjacent to Portland.

The "United States" base has been moved slightly and now occupies the position of Salt Lake City.

Customised Scenario data changes:

The port and airfield values of Seattle and San Diego have been downgraded.

Portland is now a port.

Some of the base values of the Alaskan bases have been revised to make them more realistic.

Some units have been added, moved or removed for the same reasons, including the addition of some additional Canadian infantry brigades, CD units and base forces (largely because the number of Canadian bases has also increased),and the adjustment of the Alaskan ground forces.

Base changes - North America:

The new port and airfield size/SPS values are applied in customised scenarios.
